    Beethoven Weekender

    • Date: 1st & 2nd February
    • Venue: The Barbican

When most people hear a weekender event is taking place in London, you’re expecting a full-on rave atmosphere, but don’t grab the glowsticks just yet when the Beethoven Weekender takes place at The Barbican.

The weekend festival is a celebration of the musical genius with performances from the fifth to ninth symphonies. There are also exhibitions and TV legend John Suchet hosting the main event.

More information is available on The Barbican website here

    Angel Olson

    • Date: 8th February
    • Venue: Eventim Apollo

     Angel Olson

With over 1 million monthly streams on Spotify, Angel Olson makes a quick stop in London as part of the All Mirrors European tour. With her most recent album hitting the Top 30 here in the UK, she has quite the fan base.

If you’re a fan of Sharon Van Eaten or Big Thief (who also play the Apollo this month), you’ll enjoy Angel’s music.

    Strictly Come Dancing Live!

    • Date: 7th to 9th February
    • Venue: o2 Arena

     stricktly come dancing

Get your “10” signs ready as Strict takes over the o2 yet again for another weekend of dance fun. You can expect all the main dancers from the show as well as celebrities from the most recent years coming back to grace the dancefloor.

There is one show on Friday evening, with two shows on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets start at £35 plus booking.

    Mabel

    • Date: 12th February
    • Venue: Eventim Apollo

Having your debut album get to the Top3 in the album charts is no mean feat by any stretch, but that’s precisely what Mabel was able to do last summer when High Expectations. Now the singer brings her world tour of the same name to London for one night only.

With all singles off the album so far hitting the Top 20, it’s going to a pop-fuelled party.

    Anton & Erin

    • Date: 14th & 15th February
    • Venue: The Barbican

Another dose of Strictly action coming to London this month, if your partner is the kind of person who has to be in front of the TV to watch it live every weekend, then they’ll love this show featuring two of the show’s best professionals.

They’ll be dancing to some of the best music from classic movies, and as another Strictly surprise,  Lance Ellington who sings live on every episode will be the lead vocalist of the show.

    The National Wedding Show

    • Date: 14th to 16th February
    • Venue: Olympia London

     wedding_show_uk

Has love struck on Valentine’s Day and it’s become a whirlwind romance? Well, you’re in luck as the National Wedding Show comes back for its Spring edition at the Olympia.

Featuring everything you could think of having at a wedding, and then some, the event sees hundreds of exhibitors showcase their bridalwear, menswear, accessories and décor.

More information can be found on the Olympia website here.

The Coca-Cola London Eye Advance Ticket Champagne Experience

    • Date: Valentine’s Weekend
    • Venue: London Eye

Yes, it’s a bit over the top for Valentine’s Weekend but what a great surprise for someone to be treated with a great view of the Thames and a little bit of the bubbly thrown in for good measure.

The Champagne experience has to be booked online in advance as demand is high and will be higher in the lead up to Valentine’s weekend. You can check availability here

    Cirque Du Soleil LUZIA

    • Date: Throughout February
    • Venue: Royal Albert Hall

Midway through their three-month residency at the Royal Albert Hall, Cirque Du Soleil LUZIA is a dazzling show that transports you from SW7 to a re-imagined Mexico.

If you haven’t been to a Cirque Du Soleil performance before, this is a great starting point as you’ll be wowed by the visuals and acrobatics.

    Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk

    • Date: 29th February
    • Venue: V&A

An exhibition that runs through most of the spring but only opens at the very end of this month (don’t forget 2020 is a leap year), Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk is an exhibition taking you through the history of one of the most well-known but misunderstood garments.

Full information can be found on the V&A website here.

    Pancake Day

    • Date: 25th February
    • Venue: Across London

Not an official holiday but the perfect excuse for anyone to treat themselves at the end of the month, Pancake day falls on the last Tuesday of the month. There will be a lot of cafes putting on special dishes throughout the day, but some of the best cafes to visit on the day if you have a sweet tooth, in Kensington and a little further afield, include:
